3rd term personal reflection

I think that this 3rd term we practice more speaking as 2on term. I think that it’s good for improve my English. Also we saw “Four weddings and a Funeral”, it’s a great film for practice listening and pronunciation. About grammar, for me, the most difficult thing was learning the “reporter speech”. But, finally, we practice it a lot with the writing “Real you questionnaire”.

Write a diary about one week in your life this third term

I’d like to talk about one week in my life in this third term. I’d like to talk about my birthdays’ week. My birthday is April 3, is the day after we arrive of the trip to Italy. I think that was the best week of this third term because I stay all the week in Italy with my friends, I visited a lot of cities and famous places in Italy and I had very good moments with my friends there.
My birthday was Friday, the day after we arrive of the trip. In the afternoon, I went out with my friends for to saw the “Manaies”, a traditional Catalan parade, and then we went to dinner in a restaurant.
It was an unforgettable week, it was a perfect week.

AN INTERVIEW WITH MARIA by Judit Planas

Maria said that she was feeling very happy today because it's a sunny day. She’s happiest when her friends make her laugh, and she said that she coudn’t live without chocolate and her computer. She is angry or moody when her mother doesn’t understand her problems. If she could be anywhere in the world now, she would be in Hawaii because she thinks that it is a sunny place.

Maria has got a great memory and she remembers her first day at this school, she felt very nervous because she was very little. Also she remembers her last birthday. She remembers that she went to Italy on a school trip, Russia, France… The best holiday that she has ever had was in a cruise around the North Sea.

She’s usually positive about the future. I asked if the planet would be a better place in a hundred years, and she said that it probably wouldn’t, she thinks that it would be worse. She thinks that she wait be famous because she thinks that famous people are stupid. When she’s older, Maria likes to live in Italy because the gastronomy and the character of the people are good. She promises that, if she has money, she’ll help poor people in the future.

A diary entry

I’m in a difficult situation at the moment. My best friend stole a t-shirt from a shop. The police in the shop interviewed her and she lied to them. She said that the t-shirt had been stolen by other girl in my class. I also lied about this to protect her. Unfortunately, a security video from the clothes shop shows her. Now I have problems.

I think that my friend was wrong to steal a t-shirt and to lie about it. I think that if my friend and I didn’t lie about this, now we wouldn’t have any problems with this other girl in my class.

I’m not sure what will happen now. I think that this won’t happen again. My friend and I learned the lesson now but, if I were in this situation again, I’d tell the truth.

My trip to Italy

My trip to Italy

This trip was the last that we do all the class. For this reason it was very special for me. It was a really wonderful trip.

One of the things that made this trip special was that all the class was united and we passed it very well together.The places that I loved much were Milano and Venice. I think that Milano is a very elegant city, with her duomo and shops. And Venice… I love Venice. I think is a very romantic city.

Probably it was the best trip that I had. It was an unforgettable trip.

Internet became important in 1969 when it was invented.

Before Internet was invented, people went to the library to consult information; the computer games weren't existed and the relationships were more real, no virtual.

OneRepublic

OneRepublic was formed in Colorado (US) in 2002. The members were Rayan Tedder (vocals, guitar and piano), Zach Filkins (guitar and vocals too), Drew Brown (guitar), Bernt Kutzle (Bass and cello) and Eddie Fisher (drums).
All of the group’s members write song, but most of the lyrics are written by Ryan Tedder.

OneRepublic’s first album, Dreaming Out Loud, was released in 2007 by Greg Wells. This album was a success and it was their first bestseller. It has sold 1,455,932 copies for the moment.

OneRepublic play pop rock and alternative rock. Some of their best songs are Apologize, that it was the more successfully song, Stop and Stare and Mercy. This band has won one prize for the best Hook Up shared with Timbaland, other singer, in 2008. This same year they were nominated for five MTV music and video awards, but only won one of them.

A news story

This was the dramatic scene yesterday morning in one of the streets of Girona city. This accident happened when one distracted driver didn't saw security fences and he fell to a big hole of the road in works.

The accident happened at twelve o’clock. The driver, an old man, didn’t see the security fences and he fell to a very big pit two meters deep. As soon as people saw the accident, they called the police and the ambulance immediately arrived.

At first, people thought that the driver was dead.
Later, the police arrived and rescued the man life but he had serious injures and the ambulance finally brought the driver to hospital.

After a few hours, the crane car pulled the car from the pit out.

Finally one policeman said: “It’s the most striking and unusual accident that I’ve never seen”.

A Life Story

I was born in Girona in 1993. When I was young, we lived in a different house. It was in Banyoles too but it was in other street. We've moved since then, and now we’ve lived in Psg. Generalitat for seven years.

My earliest memory isn’t very clear. But I remember when my parents and I went on holidays in Roses or in Setcases. I remember my first day in primary school. My teachers name was Carme Feliu, and I was in the dolphin’s class.

I’ve been at Casa Nostra School for three years now. I’ve changed much since I was young. I think that I’m more mature now, and my face and my hair are very different.
When I finish secondary school, I study “Batxillerat”. Before I’m old I really want to go Japan.

Last Summer

Last week of August my family and I went to Iceland for one week. We went there because is a different place in climate, in traditions...
We travelled all over the island and we visited all touristic places, for example the icebergs with their seals and whales, geysers, the blue lagoon and more beautiful spaces.
It’s a very relaxing place.

I think that this trip was very interesting and relaxing because most of the island is deserted. But I missed a little the summer sun and the beaches.
